Mission

     The Joint Laboratory serves as a platform for Thailand-China marine collaboration. It supports the cooperation and communication including the implementation of the joint projects approved by the Joint Committee, identification of new common interests by encouraging scientists to submit new proposals to the Joint Committee, and the promotion of regional cooperation in the field of ocean and climate through engaging in the development and implementation of the programs of relevant intergovernmental organizations.

Scope of research under the Joint Laboratory

1. Research in marine sciences; physical oceanography, geological oceanography, geophysics, biology, and ecosystem, with special emphasis in multidisciplinary studies.
2. Impact of global climate change on ocean and marine ecosystem, including the response of the ocean on climate system.
3. Marine environmental protection and marine ecosystem conservation.
4. Provide research information for the policy makers.
