Coral Reef Mapping and Bleaching

     This sub-project was operated since 2012 as a scientific collaboration between the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Thailand, and the First Institute of Oceanography (FIO), State Oceanic Administration (SOA), People's Republic of China, in order to develop guidelines for coral reef surveys.

Objectives

• To develop techniques for mapping coral reefs and assessing coral bleaching.

Expected benefits

• Increased ability in seafloor surveying and mapping.
• Increased ability in coral reefs mapping and coral bleaching observation.
