The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources organized the 13th Workshop on Thailand-China Cooperation on Marine Science and Technology and the 12th Executive Committee Meeting of the Thailand-China Joint Laboratory for Climate and Marine Ecosystem. These meetings took place from September 2–6, 2024, as part of the international conference under the Thailand-China Marine Cooperation.

The event was co-chaired by Ms. Sumana Khajarawattanakul, Director of the Marine and Coastal Resources Research and Development Institute, Thailand, and Prof. Fangli Qiao, Deputy Director-General of the First Institute of Oceanography (FIO), China. Participants included members of the executive committee of the Thailand-China Laboratory, officials and executives from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and Project Investigators (PI) from both countries, totaling 90 attendees.

The objectives of the meeting were to present the progress of activities conducted in 2024, plan the operations for 2025, and share updates and outcomes of joint research projects under the Thailand-China Marine Cooperation Framework. Additionally, the event facilitated discussions and gathered recommendations for future collaborative strategies to enhance bilateral cooperation.
