Partcipating in the 13th Steering Committee Meeting of China-Thailand Joint Laboratory for Climate and Marine Ecosystem

On September 8–9, 2025, the First Institute of Oceanography (FIO) organized the 13th Steering Committee Meeting (SCM-13) of the Thailand–China Joint Laboratory for Climate and Marine Ecosystem under the framework of Thailand–China marine cooperation in Nanning, P.R. China. The meeting was co-chaired by Ms. Sumana Khajornwattanakul, Director of the Marine and Coastal Resources Research and Development Institute, as the Thai Co-chair, and Prof. Qiao Fangli, Deputy Director-General of FIO, as the Chinese Co-chair. Representatives from the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, the Department of Mineral Resources, and Prince of Songkla University also attended the meeting. The objective was to present the progress of ongoing joint research projects under the Thailand–China marine cooperation framework, review the activities conducted in 2025, and consider the 2026 annual work plan of the Joint Laboratory. The meeting also served as a platform to exchange views and provide recommendations for strengthening future collaboration.
